therealprotagonist: (We'll need a new puck)
How am I doing with Rai now? His specific canon point is during Citadel of Doom; right after Kimiko, Clay, Dojo, and Jack Spicer are all thrown into the dungeon. So he doesn't get to play airhockey with Wuya afterall.

Series: Xiaolin Showdown

Canon point: 6:21 during Season 2 Episode 2 of Xiaolin Showdown "The Citadel of Doom"

Summary: History: Raimundo was born in a small village in Brazil called Tubarão. He grew up in the city of Rio de Janeiro however. Rai was born into a large family of eight brothers and sisters, though it is hinted through his personality that he is one of the older siblings. We know he was in a circus before Master Fung recruited him to become the Xiaolin Dragon of the Wind. He left his life in Rio to join the Xiaolin Temple. It was there he met Omi, Clay, and Kimiko, the other Xiaolin Dragons of Water, Earth, and Fire in training. The groups synergy wasn't great in the beginning, no small part due to Raimundo's more rough and prankster nature.

He grew close to the other monks as they trained and lived together while tracking down the mystical objects called Shen Gong Wu, items hidden all around the world by Grand Master Dashi, who was the one and only Grand Master Dragon. They fought the forces of evil of the Heylin side that sought to send the world into ten thousand years of darkness. Jack Spicer and the Heylin ghost witch Wuya were their main foes though the duo did recruit other evils along the way.

It was when Wuya was able to gain the Heart of Jong and the necessary Shen Gong Wu that things changed. Wuya used the Wu to summon Mala Mala Jong and ditched Jack Spicer. She attacked the temple with the demon but Raimundo and the other monks had fled with their remaining Shen Gong Wu. Raimundo had not wished to flee and wanted to stay and fight but reluctantly listened to Master Fung...until he sneaked away from the others with the Sword of the Storm Shen Gong Wu to go fight with the other monks. He arrived too late and found Master Fung and the others defeated.

He was captured by Mala Mala Jong and the sword was stolen from him. Wuya demanded to know where the other monks were but Rai refused to tell her. The witch shrunk down and entered Raimundo's mind. She was able to draw out information out of Raimundo and sent Mala Mala Jong to fight the monks. The demon was destroyed thanks to Kimiko, Clay, and Omi's efforts.

As a reward, Omi, Clay, and Kimiko were allowed to advance to the next level of training. Raimundo, however, was not. Master Fung told him he was not ready because he refused to listen and endangered the other monks and the world. Raimundo was furious and stormed off. It was the next day during the others more advanced training that he drew upset that he had to watch and nothing to do. Omi's words, that were meant to be encouraging, only angered Raimundo and he fled the temple with the Golden Tiger Claws.

Rai went back to Rio and sat on a cliff overlooking the city. It was then he was approached by Wuya to join her. She said she had seen how unhappy and unfulfilled he was with the monks and that she could give him everything he ever wanted. He didn't agree at first but she did hit his buttons. She told him a new Wu was activating and he returned to the temple to go with the others. The Wu in question was the Reversing Mirror. Raimundo won it in a showdown against Jack Spicer. It was then he revealed he would take Wuya up on her offer and joined the Heylin side.

Rai and Wuya retreated to a deserted area to plan their next move. Wuya sent Rai back to the temple to retrieve one last Wu, the Serpent's Tail. He got it out of the vault and was caught by Kimiko, Clay, and Omi. He fought Kimiko and Clay and was able to knock them into a large pot together. Omi tried to stop Rai but he used the Serpent's Tail to become ghostly and slip right through him and away from the temple.

Back at their secluded valley, Rai was going to use the Reversing Mirror and Serpent's Tail to give Wuya back her physical form. The other monks interfered and were able to keep the Serpent's Tail away from Rai but he snagged it back with the help of the Golden Tiger Claws and his wind powers. He then used the Serpent's Tail and Reversing Mirror and Wuya was again made flesh. Rai gave his monk friends a chance to surrender but they were saved by Jack Spicer.

After this, Wuya conquered the world quickly and gave Raimundo all she had promised him. He began to find it empty though. He wanted friends. Wuya provided him with stone golems but they weren't real friend material. It was then Wuya came to him and he asked if she would play with him. She said she had something special for him. It was then his former friends were brought into the throne room. They told Rai and Wuya that Omi was trapped in the past when Rai noticed Omi wasn't among the monks, Dojo, and Jack Spicer.

He tried to get his once friends to join the Heylin side with him but they refused. It was then Wuya threw the monks, dragon, and Jack into the dungeon before she asked Raimundo how to play air hockey.

Personality: Raimundo is a fairly laidback and careless boy. He enjoys having fun more than he does being responsible. He is impulsive and will often go for or do things in a more fun manner than tackling it head on. Because he dislikes what bores him, he will avoid it or attempt to pass it off onto someone else. This doesn't mean he can't take responsibility for things but only that he does it only when there something important at stake, ie his pride or the fate of people he likes. He can step up to the plate and has shown to be great doing so but motivating him to do that is difficult.

Raimundo is one of the cool kids. He listens to popular rock and hip-hop music and isn't against playing pranks on people to embarrass them. He comes off as smooth and full of himself. He does have quite a bit of confidence in himself but it is mostly used to hide the fear he isn't good enough. A superiority complex to mask the inferiority complex under it. He'll talk himself up and often can back up his words but there are moments when the scared boy who wants to be good enough for his friends and family will show through, but it is rare.

Raimundo is a kind hearted kid deep down. He is kind and does care about those he is close to, even if they tend to annoy him at times. He tries his best to look after his friends in the sort of way that allows him to mess with them but not others. He becomes protective over those who he sees as younger or less experienced as himself. This is most likely due to being born into such a large family and having little siblings himself. Raimundo is prone to small emotional outbursts if he believes one of his friends is or was in danger though he will quickly cover them up with trying to play the cool kid again.

At the canon point Raimundo is from, he has turned his back on his friends and given into his more greedy side. He is focused on himself and what he wants. Though he is afraid for his friends, he doesn't believe there is any going back now. He wanted his due and now he has it. He sees the other monks as ex-friends at the moment and thus is more likely to close himself off with the cool/tough guy act he usually wears around people. He is a good kid who has been making bad decisions as he has felt wronged by the people he once held close for doing what he thought was right. Those kind of wounds don't heal quickly.

Powers: Raimundo has several personal talents that he is good at. He is skilled in martial arts and can take on killer robots and the likes of Jack Spicer and his goons with ease. He was even shown to have skills good enough to take on Clay and Kimiko simultaneously. Though that is when he is focused. When he isn't taking things seriously, he is much more likely to fail and often does so. He needs to be all in or his chances of winning are slim. He is also a skilled surfer as well as extremely flexible. The flexibility could be a result of his time in the circus. When focused, Rai is also good at studying things and learning things quickly. His retention for facts and knowledge is also good when it interests him.

Raimundo also has a knowledge of how to use several Shen Gong Wu as well as information on different rules when it comes to Xiaolin Showdowns.

Now his powers are centered around him being the Xiaolin Dragon of the Wind. He can call upon his element to enhance his fighting ability and strength. He has also been shown to be able to manipulate wind to levitate and help himself to glide through the air and possibly fly. He can also send out blasts of air at the level he is at right now but they aren't extremely powerful. Mostly his air manipulation is for controlling the air currents around him so he can maneuver himself. He does have room to grow as in the series, he and the other monks grow stronger through training and so could Raimundo during his time in the Bastion. Raimundo will only be able to call upon his wind element and use its effects three times a day normally and suffer the 50% failure rate after that.

Entry: Found on the Skyway would be preferable but if no one is available, he can find the Bastion himself.

Other: Raimundo is awesome and won't be bringing any of the Shen Gong Wu with him.
